Cameras

Here at Campus Camera & Imaging, we sell lots of photo goodies. Tripods, cases, lighting, flashes and memory cards just to name a few. But, our business is built on cameras! Our Kent location sells only the best cameras from the top manufacturers in the world Nikon, Canon and Sony.

Nikon DSLR Cameras - Campus Camera and Imaging located in Kent OhioWe’ve been in the Nikon game so long that we sold Nikon before Nikon was it’s own company! Nikon was originally a side-product that was brought in by one of our bigger distributors, EPOI. EPOI was our distributor for Durst enlargers and Bronica equipment, Nikon was something that we ordered on the side. Boy, how times have changed! Now, Nikon USA is always fighting it out for 1 camera name in the world. Campus Camera & Imaging is a Nikon Professional Dealer meaning that we can order (and stock) everything from entry-level point-and-shoots all the way up to the highest end cameras and lenses! Where else can you walk into a store and see a Nikon $500 dSLR package and see a Nikkor $10.000 lens? Campus Camera & Imaging, that’s where!

Our business was also one of the first 500 Canon resellers in the United States. We’ve sold more Canon cameras over the years than anyone within a 100 mile radius! Remember the Canon AE-1? Who didn’t have that camera? Like “Frampton Comes Alive” (is there anyone you knew who didn’t have that record?) everyone had a Canon AE-1. Canon has come a long way since then, but has still maintained atop the camera world. Today, Canon is number 1 in all camera sales and among professional photographers. Have you ever watched a sporting event and looked at all those big, white lenses? That’s a Canon lens! Just like Nikon, we are a Canon Professional Dealer.

Sony DSLR Cameras - Campus Camera and Imaging located in Kent OhioFinally, we come to another of the camera world’s fine manufacturers, Sony. People equate Sony with Televisions, Stereos, Walkmans and Blu-Ray players, but what may surprise you is that Sony bought the now-defunct Minolta camera division in 2006. In a genius move, they kept the “Minolta Maxxum” mount but renamed it to the current Sony “a” (Alpha) mount. Sony is known as a company that is always very proprietary, so this move was a surprise. Since their current inception in the camera market, Sony has been our best seller. We sell more Sony cameras today than Canon and Nikon combined! They give a lot of bang for the buck to the customer that, sometimes, it’s hard to sell a competing camera. As referenced by our huge store sign, we are a part of the official Sony Retailer Network.

All of these companies make great equipment. You’ll never find “grey market” items here. On top of that, most of the time our prices are as good or better than what you’ll find locally or on the internet!
